I hope you are having an awesome week so far. Today I would like to share with you some tips on how to take care of your skin. Taking care of your skin can be interpreted differently depending on individuals. To some, this means consuming the required 8 glasses of water daily, to others it means cleaning it twice a day and to some it may mean the visiting of your favourite spa once or twice a week. Taking care of your skin is something very important and it may not require you to spend a fortune on. Some simple daily skin care routines that suit your schedule other than waiting for two weeks or a month to do something about your skin could achieve exceptional results

1. Know your skin type.

The first step to taking care of your skin is by knowing your skin type. I talked about this here. By knowing your skin type you will be able to know which kind of skin care products to use, how often you should use them and also the amount that you should use on your skin. All this are important aspects that you should consider depending on your skin type.

2. Cleansing.

Cleansing your skin mostly your face is very important and should be done at least twice a day. One should get a cleanser that would suit their skin type. You can start by trying out some until you get the one that suits you the best. You should ensure that the cleanser is soap-free as soap tends to suck out the moisture from your skin therefore leaving it very dry.

3. Exfoliate.

As we all know, the skin removes dead cells and replaces them with new ones. Thus, if we do not exfoliate often, these cells pile up and our skin is clogged up sometimes leading to break outs. Also, if you do not exfoliate, the dead cells will just be absorbing the products that you use and the product will not get to the newly generated cells. You may end up coming to the conclusion that the product does not work since there will be no change on your skin. You can exfoliate after cleansing or if you are in a rush, you can mix your cleanser and exfoliator to speed up the process like I do  One thing you need to take care about exfoliation is that if it is overdone it leads to weakening your skin and making it more prone to sunburns. Exfoliating on alternate days, twice or thrice a week is just fine depending on your skin type.

4. Moisturizing.

Moisturising your skin as I said here, cannot be evaded. By moisturising your skin, you lock in the moisture and also attract moisture form the surroundings. Use the right amount of moisturiser on your skin when it is damp to avoid clogging up of your pores. Click here for further details on skin moisturising.

5. Sunscreen.

Protecting your skin from harmful UV rays is quite essential for your skin. Most moisturisers have sunscreen so as you look for one, you can pick a product that will have a combined advantage. Better yet, you can just look for a sunscreen product that suits you best.

6. Hydrate.

Hydrating is another exceptional way of taking take care of your skin. Ensure that you consume around 8 glasses of water a day. Although this may seem hard at times, just take gulps of water at different instances occasionally throughout the day. You will end up beating the target even without knowing. Though water doesn’t directly contribute to your skin condition, water helps in sustaining overall health flushing out any impurities and toxins that could hinder quick skin restoration.

7. Working out.

When you work out, you allow blood to flow easily which boosts circulation of nutrients and oxygen to your skin. This improves the health of your skin giving it vibrant glow especially since work outs also enable the skin to have an increased production of natural oils. In addition, body workouts tone your muscles, therefore giving more support to your skin making it have a firmer and more elastic appearance. Apart from that, exercises make you sweat and sweat helps in eliminating of body toxins that have clogged the skin pores. A few consistent work outs such as walking and morning runs can work remarkably well for you.
